About Howard Ham, Jr.




A Texas native, Howard Ham, Jr. is the embodiment of the Texas Farm and Ranch industry.  With a background in livestock feed manufacturing, and a BS from Texas A & M in Animal Husbandry, Howard has a full range of knowledge when it comes to farms and ranches. 

After college, but before venturing into real estate, Howard served nearly 27 years of active duty in the US Air Force, retiring as a full colonel in 1991.  During his time in the military, Howard spent over 5,000 hours flying time as a Command Pilot and earned several awards for his service.  A decorated soldier, Howard has earned combat decorations for his service in the conflict in Southeast Asia, including, The Distinguished Flying Cross, The Bronze Star, the Air Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm.  

 Now a 24 year real estate veteran, Howard has served in various leadership positions within the industry, including, Board of directors of Texas Alliance of Land Brokers, and past president of the Texas Farm and Ranch Club.  Additionally, Howard has served on the Board of Directors of the West Texas Fair & Rodeo, has volunteered on the Livestock Committee for the San Antonio Livestock Exposition, and holds memberships in nearly a dozen organizations.

Howard is well known as a top farm and ranch specialist, respected by peers as one of the most service minded farm and ranch agents in the industry.  In his very specific niche, Howard is required to understand the nuances of all that goes into ranching as well as the clients who make their living and raise their families on the land that they are trying to buy or sell.  In this sense, he is an expert who understands the mineral rights and agricultural issues that surround this very unique area of real estate.  Earning top accolades by the San Antonio Business Journal as one of the Top 8 Farm and Ranch Agents in the area, Howard holds the ability to serve current Texas Farm and Ranch clients, as well as the growing number of out of state clients looking for their piece of Texas farm and ranch land.
